ON24 and the CCPA

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants consumer rights relating to the access to, deletion of, and sharing of personal information that is collected by businesses. The CCPA  expanded the privacy rights granted to California consumers, placing certain obligations on businesses that collect the personal data of California consumers, no matter where that business is located.

ON24 welcomes the CCPA as an important step forward in protecting an individual’s personal information and as an opportunity for ON24 to deepen our commitment to privacy.

How ON24 is Supporting its Clients’ Compliance with the CCPA

ON24 acts as a service provider for the personal information that we process on behalf of clients through their use of ON24’s services. Companies that are subject to the CCPA are required to have certain contractual terms in place with their service providers that restrict the service provider’s use of a client’s personal information beyond providing the services to the client. ON24’s Data Processing Addendum (DPA) meets those requirements. Our DPA is tailored to address the unique aspects of ON24’s platform and services and reflects our data security procedures and data processing activities.

Once signed, your company will have terms in place with ON24 to cover the collection, use, retention, disclosure, and processing of California consumers’ personal data that may occur through your company’s use of the ON24 webinar platform and other services.

Already have Data Processing Terms in place with ON24?

If you are an existing client, you may have already executed a DPA with ON24 or have agreed to our Data Processing Terms incorporated by reference into our Universal Terms and Conditions. If that’s the case, you can execute our CCPA Letter Agreement, which adds CCPA terms to your contract with ON24, without having to consider a broader set of data processing terms.
