ON24 Announces Next-Generation Virtual Environment Manager

November 12th, 2013

New Solution Provides Greater Ease of Use, Flexibility for
Virtual Environment Producers, Partners and Content Creators

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – November 12, 2013 – ON24, the global leader in webcasting and virtual communication solutions, today announced the release of the next-generation Virtual Environment Manager (VEM), a new HTML-enabled back-end application for managing virtual environments such as new-hire onboarding and user conferences.

“The launch of a new, easy-to-use virtual environment management tool is part of the larger self-service trend we are seeing in our industry,” explained Jayesh Sahasi, ON24 Chief Product Officer and CTO. “With the Virtual Environment Manager, producers can easily adapt their virtual communications solutions to meet corporate needs, with easy customization for a variety of applications ranging from leadership training to product launches.”

The new VEM offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Significantly enhanced ease of use via a new user interface and single sign-on
    to access all ON24’s applications
  • Tighter integration with ON24’s webcasting tools
  • Enhanced permissioning with role-based access
  • New content management system providing unlimited bulk content uploading
and multiple content filtering and sorting options
  • A new and improved help system

Setting up and managing a virtual environment is now simpler and more intuitive than ever with the new Virtual Environment Manager. For example, a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) visual editor facilitates creation and management of all locations within the environment. Navigation options are easily configured, added or moved, and the visual editor allows the producer to immediately view changes in real time.

With single sign-on functionality, VEM is a one-stop media content management system that provides integration across ON24 virtual environments and webcasting, enabling webcast access from the virtual environment; for example, users can create, publish and manage webcasts directly within the virtual environment. “VEM delivers a fully integrated and streamlined workflow, saving producers valuable time and resulting in a better end user experience,” explained Sahasi.

“One of the most exciting aspects of Virtual Environment Manager is the content management capability,” Sahasi added. With VEM, content can be tagged and organized, with role-based access to that content. VEM provides:

  • Enhanced filtering
  • Sorting
  • Searching capabilities
  • Bulk uploading

“The new features and functionality in Virtual Environment Manager are a direct result of listening to our customer base and responding to their needs,” commented Sahasi. “We are committed to bringing the best experience to everyone involved in producing and consuming virtual communications – the producers, content creators, sponsors and, ultimately, their audiences.”
