ON24 Announces Video Webinar Certification

March 10th, 2014

Learn How to Bring Webinars to Life with Video at Webinar Academy

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – March 10, 2014 – ON24, the global leader in webinars and virtual communication solutions, today announced a new video track for the popular Webinar Academy professional certification program.

The industry-first Webinar Academy has been very well received since its inception just five months ago, with more than 4,000 industry professionals registered and close to 1,000 certificates issued to date. The video track is expected to attract an additional 2,000 registrants to the Academy, reflecting the growing ubiquity of video in enterprise communications and its acceptance as a tool to drive webinar engagement.

The enthusiastic response to the Webinar Academy comes as no surprise – because webinar pros want to learn best practices, expand their skill sets and earn recognition through the Academy’s certification program. The launch of an Academy video track illustrates how critical video has become in enterprise communications. “Whether it is consumer or B2B, end users are consuming and sharing video across multiple platforms, including mobile devices,” commented Lars Christensen, ON24 Vice President of Marketing/Demand Generation. “Webinar pros need to create high-impact messages to maximize webinar effectiveness, and video can play a critical role.”

The enterprise need to deliver more engaging and compelling content has never been greater. In order to compete and stay relevant, businesses need to use all the tools at their disposal, including social, mobile and, increasingly, video. And, with the proliferation of inexpensive, high-quality webcams and video equipment, it has never been easier for webcast producers to incorporate video. However, many webcast producers lack confidence in their ability to integrate video, due to misperceptions about technical complexity and cost.

The Webinar Academy video track will address those issues and offer the following 25-minute sessions in the video track launch on March 12, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time:

  • Introduction to Video Webcasting
  • Best Practices for Using Webcams
  • Take the Complexity out of Studio Video
  • Live Event Webcasting

“Mastering video is the next frontier for corporate communicators,” commented Steve Vonder Haar, senior analyst, Streaming & Webcasting, for Wainhouse Research. “Technology is making online video integration easier and more reliable than ever before. The trick now for executives is to learn how to leverage video in a way that makes their online presentations to large audiences more engaging. If you’re scared to try online video options like this, you’re falling behind.”

More about the Webinar Academy
The goal of ON24’s Webinar Academy program is to provide valuable content and Webinar Pro designations, designed to advance professionalism in the virtual communications industry. The new Webinar Academy video track supplements previous Webinar Academy tracks which offer content for webinar producers, promoters and presenters. To be certified and receive a track-specific badge, audience members must attend four 25-minute Webinar Academy sessions, either live or on demand, and pass a test administered after the completion of the track. If attendees successfully complete all four tracks, they receive the Webinar Pro certification and badge. All certifications and badges can be added to professional profiles and social media channels such as LinkedIn. More information can be found on LinkedIn and Twitter (#WebinarAcademy).
